Your voice matters

Politics can be hard to understand, hard to stomach, hard to engage with, confusing af…if you have those thoughts and just want to look the other way, I feelz you so much. Politics can be trash. They make it hard and confusing on purpose. They want people to look away and/or not talk about it.

Thing is…we can’t look away. Whether you believe it or not- everything we interact with on a daily basis, from our rent/mortgages, gas, public transportation, internet, to the food we buy - it all has something to do with who is making the laws. And those laws are determined by the politicians we vote into office. So it matters. Your vote matters. Some will tell you it doesn’t, don’t believe that hype. (look below at this list of reasons why your vote DOES matter)

And if you are getting turned off by this whole spiel- I love you. I feel you. I say this all from a place of love and respect and hopes for a better future. I am not telling you who to vote for, but I am reminding you that Your VOICE and VOTE matter.

I am always up for a good chat about any of this…so if you are on the fence or don’t know the who/what/where/when on voting, hit me up. And if you want to start getting to know who represents you- start here.

I’m an open book about my choice - my vote will be for Kamala Harris & Tim Walz and the Democratic Party. And if you want to know why, you can start by reading this NY Times Essay written by the incredible Roxanne Gay.

The political class is firmly entrenched in believing we cannot change the system; we must merely endure it. But what if change really is possible now — not in four years, or eight or beyond?

The Harris-Walz ticket reminds us that when there is urgency and political will, change is possible.
